SELECT introduces new Member classification for EV charging equipment installations
To assist with the demands of EV installations, SELECT has expanded its work classifications and approvals to include EV installation work.
Three new sub-categories have been introduced specifically for those who have existing classification and approval in low and extra-low voltage electrical installations and who also undertake and install electric vehicle charging equipment installations.
The sub-categories are as follows:
- 3.1a EV Charging Equipment Installations (Domestic)
- 3.1b EV Charging Equipment Installations (Commercial)
- 3.1c EV Charging Equipment Installations (Large Scale)
Recognition is only available to those SELECT Members who satisfy our revised membership criteria and the specific technical requirements that must be in place before classification and approval can be given.
A signed declaration by the principal representative (PR) together with evidence of the nominated competent person (Qualified Supervisor) having recent assessed training in BS 7671, ECS Health, Safety & Environmental, and in EV Charging Equipment installation will however be necessary before any application to join our new scheme is approved.
