Smart Controls
This one-day smart homes course is designed to give learners an insight into the benefits of using smart controls for heating, lighting and power circuits within buildings. The course will focus specifically on Lightwave and Salus products and will lead learners into the Lightwave Pro Installer program (if already qualified electricians).
Aim:
This one-day smart homes course is designed to give learners an insight into the benefits of using smart controls for heating, lighting and power circuits within buildings. The course will focus specifically on Lightwave and Salus products and will lead learners into the Lightwave Pro Installer program (if already qualified electricians). We will integrate voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home Kit, as well as using tablets and smart phones to both program and activate the devices, routines etc. There is no home study required and no formal exam for this course. Delegates attending the course will receive a college certificate of attendance.
Course Structure and Material:
The course is structured to maximise participant engagement by using a combination of lectures, video presentations, and practical hands-on demonstration. Learners will get to add additional products onto existing systems and be able to program these in and develop programs, switching routines etc. Learners will also be issued with notes and documentation on the various products, which they can work on further after the course.
Experience Recommendation:
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, it is recommended that learners have or are working towards an SVQ III MA in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
The course is not recommended for people who are not electricians, although anyone is welcome to come for an overarching knowledge but may struggle with some of the terminology discussed during the day. We would not advise anyone to install these products who are not electrically skilled persons; as per the definitions in BS 7671 and The Electricity at Work Regulations (Regulation 16).
Fees:
SELECT Members £195.00 Plus VAT (£234.00)
Non-Members £225.00 Plus VAT (£270.00)
